Case Study - Danny
Danny was attending Dumfries & Galloway College, studying Motor Vehicle Maintenance.
Through the College he had applied for a Further Education Bursary. Danny has two brothers and a sister. His father is a tradesman and employed by a local firm and his mother works as a care assistant in a home for the elderly. Danny has a job at the weekend working in a local supermarket. Although Danny’s parents don’t have high earnings, their combined income means that Danny’s entitlement to a bursary is reduced.
Danny has been saving hard from his job so that he can buy a computer (he admits that his writing isn’t great and a computer would really help him with his course work).
He applied to The Holywood Trust for grant support with his college expenses and the Trust awarded Danny a grant to help him stay at College and complete his course.
