Case Study 2

Danny contacted us whilst attending Dumfries & Galloway College where he was studying Motor Vehicle Maintenance.  Through the College he had applied for a Further Education Bursary.

Danny has an older brother and a younger brother and sister. Dad is a tradesman and is employed by a local firm and Mum works as a care assistant in a local home for the elderly. Danny has a job at the weekend working in a local supermarket. Although Mum and Dad don’t earn a lot, their combined earnings mean that Danny’s entitlement to bursary is reduced. Danny has been saving hard from his job so that he can buy a computer (he admits that his writing isn’t great and a computer would really help him with his course work).

The Trustees agreed to make a contribution to his College expenses to help him.
