About The Holywood Trust

The Holywood Trust, which takes its name from the Parish of Holywood on the outskirts of Dumfries, was founded and endowed by the late Sir John Keswick of Portrack and his daughter, the late Maggie Keswick Jencks. (See also www.maggiescentres.org for information about "Maggie's Centres" which were initiated by Maggie and her husband Charles Jencks.)

It became operational in 1981, and is administered by a Board of Trustees and there is a permanent professional staff based at Mount St Michael, Craigs Road, Dumfries.

The Trust provides grant support to young people (15 – 25 years) and organisations working with young people. The Trust has also helped to found a number of projects and organisations which continue to benefit young people in Dumfries & Galloway, and is happy to co-operate with other Voluntary Organisations or regional and national Statutory Bodies, in consortia approaches to funding.
